God doesn't give you the people you want, He gives you the people you NEED.

To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make
you into the person you were meant to be.

So very very true.

And now that leaving time is getting so close I am saying goodbye to another bunch of friends.

I can think of some very special people in my life that were sent to help..... Celicia, my first Christian mentor and friend. Julie, my first best friend, that taught me alot about how to BE a friend, and how not to. Amy...whose friendship enabled MM to make a first best friend and grow so incredibly. Aimee - who taught me that all commanders wives aren't evil...and I can play nice.

He's sent me a few to hurt me. No names needed. They served the purpose they were sent for and I learned from them. I even still love them and find it sad to think on them. And I've determine in most of these situations, they needed me for some reason or another for a season.

And there are soooo many that helped me to be more of who I am supposed to be and just loved me. The immediate and obvious: Claire, Angela, Donna, Kylie, Heather, Adrielle, Marsha, Laura, Kelly. And before now there was Tricia, Mary, and Cheryl and Becky and Kimberly.

Tell me I'm not blessed by God.

Although the partings can be rather painful.... the memories are the things that help keep you going when things get rough.

Then there is a new type of friend we have in todays world. Yes, the internet friends. People that I have not met face to face...and wish I could. People that you know would be a fun addition to your friendship circles....Heather, Debbie, Mary, Sandra, tongumama, Molly, Heidi, Bethy, Amy, and Wendy.

So here's to all my friend...past, present and to come!

Speaking of friends, more great kid pics from MM playdate....

And my all time best friend ever...

Love you all !

  1. I am so glad to be able to call you friend. Thanks for all the times you have been there for me over the years. And for keeping a NE cell phone number for the last two years. I miss you, and I know those wonderful sweet ladies who are an answer to some of my prayers when you moved from here will miss you to. You are a fabulous friend. Hugs.

  2. I am so glad to have met you, even if not in real life. I remember thinking "that is one cool lady" when I read your posts on the China Adoption Library group. And then I stumbled onto your blog.

I'm sorry for the goodbyes - I know they can be hard; I have lived them. Hugs. And I'm selfishly glad our on-line friendship won't be impacted at all by the move.

  3. Yes, the online friendships get to continue - YEAH! And I know you'll make more friends in Ohio. It's just that crazy transition time when God must be your ALL. Which isn't all that bad, actually.

  4. As an AF wife, I can completely understand hating the goodbyes. But, as an online friend, I will just remind you that online friendships do work - in fact, even better with people you actually know in the "real world". So, set up your facebook and stay in touch with the people you are leaving. It will all be good. We actually ended up back with some good friends of ours now, after three years apart and three different bases between us. That has been exciting!
Who knows, maybe you and I will end up stationed at the same place some day?!
