Joining my friend Tricia in another round of Thankful Thursday. Click her button to join in and let her know you are participating.
I am thankful that Mighty Mouse has a play date with a fellow orphanage mate today. She will get her chance to say goodbye. So far we have been able to live close to others from the same orphanage....I hope we find the same in Ohio.
I am thankful for my own play date with my friend Donna tonight. She will be gone when I return so this is my only chance to say goodbye. I will miss her terribly. She was a heathen for a long time....just like me. Makes for lots of fun when we do get together....because we are both still so damaged!! LOL! She is the perfect blend of sassy + sweet. She also has amazing hair...I don't know if I've ever told her that. Then there are her great kids - how lucky they are to have her for a mom. I'm missing you already friend and I'm not even gone yet!!!
I am thankful that Songbird is enjoying her week in Boston...and her day at Cape Cod today. I am also thankful for a good friend that is there with the kids...and not afraid to go chase her down for me and make her call me so I know she is still alive and kicking. Thanks Angela!!
I am thankful for a 10 day mini vacation with me, Mighty Mouse, and the rat. We get to go sit out on the porch in the country and read books, sew or whatever while watching 5 of the funniest dogs I've ever been around. (Not thankful for the decrepit dial-up and older computer that is not blog friendly -- will be making trip in to McD's for wi-fi! Perfect for letting MM play on the playground and burn some stink off also.)
I am thankful for the dentist I am leaving behind here. She made all the difference in the world with MM and her staff positively spoiled her. They are fantastic! I hope our next dentist office is half as good.
I am thankful for a 2 1/2 year break. I needed this....and God knew it. I needed a husband that wasn't in the desert all the time. I needed a solid church home that teaches straight out of the Word, without the legalism crap or the "everything covered by grace" permissiveness. Not an easy thing to find anymore. I will miss the awesome youth pastor and youth group and Motion group that have taken up so much of my daughters time and helped her grow into a young lady I am so very proud of. You rock kid!
Yes, today I am most thankful for the time we have had here. A pretty area to live in. A husband that has been home, or at least in the states and reachable. A fantastic church home. A group of friends like I've never had. The first Commander's Wife that I have ever liked. The incredible growth and healing for Mighty Mouse. A decent school system. A house that has been a true home.
God is good.
