Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Joining my friend Tricia in Thankful Thursday...

1. I am thankful that our big rainstorm was at 6:00am....not a 9:00 when the packers arrive (I am saying this in faith as it is not 9:00 yet....)

2. I am thankful that one day of packing is down and only 2 more to go.

3. I am thankful I have someone to watch the dog and little one while the packers are here....and Songbird is so busy with friends she isn't underfoot either.

4. I am thankful that tonight is the last night in this house....but only because I hate the smell of cardboard and the place is full of it.

5. I am thankful for a sister-in-law that would drop everything and help me in any way I needed if I asked. Even if it was to scrub toilets or other messes in our house. Now that's love.

6. I am thankful I was able to get Mighty Mouse over to say goodbye to her best friend Miss M. What a presence and influence she has been in MM life. I will always remember her (and her mom who I love!).

7. And I am thankful for the air conditioning in the house...cause packing in the garage was HOT!! And taking the stuff out of the attic??? Eeeeewwww.

Why not join us? Pop on over to Tricia's blog and tell us what you are thankful for!

God doesn't give you the people you want, He gives you the people you NEED.

To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make
you into the person you were meant to be.

So very very true.

And now that leaving time is getting so close I am saying goodbye to another bunch of friends.

I can think of some very special people in my life that were sent to help..... Celicia, my first Christian mentor and friend. Julie, my first best friend, that taught me alot about how to BE a friend, and how not to. Amy...whose friendship enabled MM to make a first best friend and grow so incredibly. Aimee - who taught me that all commanders wives aren't evil...and I can play nice.

He's sent me a few to hurt me. No names needed. They served the purpose they were sent for and I learned from them. I even still love them and find it sad to think on them. And I've determine in most of these situations, they needed me for some reason or another for a season.

And there are soooo many that helped me to be more of who I am supposed to be and just loved me. The immediate and obvious: Claire, Angela, Donna, Kylie, Heather, Adrielle, Marsha, Laura, Kelly. And before now there was Tricia, Mary, and Cheryl and Becky and Kimberly.

Tell me I'm not blessed by God.

Although the partings can be rather painful.... the memories are the things that help keep you going when things get rough.

Then there is a new type of friend we have in todays world. Yes, the internet friends. People that I have not met face to face...and wish I could. People that you know would be a fun addition to your friendship circles....Heather, Debbie, Mary, Sandra, tongumama, Molly, Heidi, Bethy, Amy, and Wendy.

So here's to all my friend...past, present and to come!

Speaking of friends, more great kid pics from MM playdate....

And my all time best friend ever...

Love you all !

Armenia

Today we are taking a trip around the net to visit Armenia.

I'd love to go here! The country prides itself on being the oldest Christian country. The old churches are amazing....although they tend to look alike.
Don't you love all this stonework?

There is amazing scenery to take in...
Cities and towns to visit...
There will be new foods to try...
And wouldn't you love to check out a show with traditional costumes and dances?
You know one of their historical arts they are known for? Manuscripts writing...
But theres other arts to see also...
And of course....there are the people....

Hanging Out in the Country....

It's always nice to run away to a small town....to a house out in the middle of nowhere.

Okay.....maybe all the staring at Walmart is rather annoying. She's Asian, not alien people!!!! And bless the poor cashiers heart that says "So its true! That stuff you see on TV about adopting really happens?"

Good thing you were so sweet and interested. And I apologize that my daughter kept her back to you the whole time you were trying to talk to her. She does not enjoy being stared at, talked to and told just how beautiful she is. She's tired of it. Not your fault....but I'm not going to scold her for it.

How did I end up down that rabbit trail??? Refocusing.

So Mighty Mouse and I are enjoying our little holiday.

What are we up to?

Mostly hanging out on the porch. See, my sister-in-law has a great porch. And a great yard. And about 5 different sets of outdoor furniture to enjoy all this. She also has no less than 10 sets of windchimes with very nice sounds.

So we hang out on the porch with these guys...

Cricket....which describes her size pretty well....

Little Bitty Lucy....who thinks she is the biggest dog in the place....
Lulu....the tank. She's constantly taking me down wanting kisses. I don't do dog kisses...but she didn't get that memo.

We also have the rat with us and there is Daisy....but she tried to bite me and spends most of her time under the couch. I think my nephew is the only person on earth that she even likes. Or likes her. (Was that my outside voice?)

MM is also playing in the wading pool....
And blowing lots of bubbles...

We are enjoying the flowers....

And then heading in doors for reading, cross stitch, tv viewing and some sewing.

Speaking of sewing. I finished Michael T's quilt. It's a good thing I don't have a little boy at home or I wouldn't be able to give this one up!
Daddy is coming to visit us tomorrow night on his way home from TDY. MM can't wait!

Before we know it Sunday will be here and we will be on the way home. And two days after that the movers show up.

Where did the summer go!!!!
